maybe only at the minute.and for people to be aware.Īt this point, we are unsure if we will be picked up for our return journey. There was another group of very upset passengers with no transport to the Alcudia area.Īll I am saying is.there appear to be problems. when we overheard another passenger being directed to it.and we only managed to get on it because someone they had priorortised didn't show up. They lied initially saying there was no coach to Cala D or.when clearly there was. They had obviously overbooked and were 'bumping' some people off in favour of others.ie. They should have arranged and paid for the taxis as they could not fulfil their obligation. To be told late at night that your prebooked transfer isn't available and that you have to self fund a VERY expensive taxi to the other side of the island is not acceptable. I too have never had a problem with any airport transfer.until now. If you have a transfer booked in the next few might be wise to double check and have an alternative arrangement in place. If they were overbooked or short of coaches.why did they not ask those people to take a much cheaper taxi or public bus rather than leave people the furthest away stranded late at night? Ironically the Cala d'or coach dropped people off in Palma Bay.a short distance from the airport. I don't know how the Alcudia travellers fared. She then told me there was a coach but it was full.įortunately for us.someone didn't turn up for their transfer.so they eventually let us on. Some people were being sent to coaches.which she said were going to Palma Nova.īy chance we overhead another employee directing someone to a cala D'or coach. The woman on the counter was adament there were no coaches and we would have to fend for ourselves. There were other people travelling to Alcudia & cala ratjada being told the same resulting in a lot of very upset and angry people. some people there had paid out £90 and were looking at an additional 80Euro transfer.Arrived at Palma airport tranfer desk 9.30 pm for our pre booked transfer.to be told that there was no coach available to take us to our resort of Cala d'or and we would need to get a taxi at approx.80 euros. After about 15 minutes of asking for this letter, she disappeared "to write something" and never came back! I went out and asked a private taxi how much it was to Can Pastilla (15mins away) - it was cheaper than the transfer we booked! We were lucky, it only cost us 15Euro to get to our hotel. I asked for a letter stating that we had checked in for insurance purposes. If they had just told us that they had issues and given everyone a letter stating so for insurance purposes, it would have been a lot better other than just lying, talking to us abruptly or even ignoring us. There were all sorts of excuses, traffic jams, road works, etc. a guy then turned up absolutely fuming that it had cost him 80Euros and he had missed his flight due to the taxi not turning up. an hr later, people started chanting "We go home Monday" (it was Friday) so discovered some had been there for up to 3 hours! I asked on reception what was happening, from what I gathered, no one was coming. Answer 1 of 16: My daughter and I have recently used Resort Hoppa from Palma Airport to Puerta Pollenca and return. they didn't quite mention where from though. We were told the taxi driver was on his way. My partner booked a private taxi for around £18. We arrived at Palma airport to discover a long queue but assumed this was down to them being reasonable and popular - in my opinion a good sign. The transfers were £16 each the taxi only cost 19 Euro.If your going to El Arenal just forget the transfer and get a taxi, less stress and less money The taxi arrived and took us to the airport and i was still on hold by the time we arrived so i hung up !!!! Thank fully we had no hold luggage and just caught check in. In the mean time my husband and reception thought it wise to call a taxi. I called it and was on hold for 15 mins, a female answered and i explained we still had not been picked up. We went into reception who tried to call their "emergency " number, no reply. pick up was at 7.50pm and we should wait outside the hotel 15 mins prior to this.well at 8.30 still no pick up. No problem, we called and it was all sorted. However we noticed a sign saying they were closed on a sat and sunday so we called on the Friday to confirm and get the time. we were told to call the day before departure to confirm our transfer and time. Only a couple of other people there waiting. Arrived at Mallorca airport, all on time, went to the Mallorca Coaches, Hoppa desk. Booked our holiday through travel republic, normally hire a car but as it was only 4 days we went with the transfer option.
